Lesson learned #2

Hook up myself at an rv camp. The 'host' was super nice and "helpful". Only I discovered he had hooked up the wrong amp power. What would have happened over a few hours? Should have thought to check other connections haha. Had a mini Robin Williams 'RV' experience! And my water ran out mid way of a total soap up. First I was mad at LTV, once I figured it out just laughed and chalked it up to ROOKIE!

You are Here, I was There

At 6:30 a.m. I heard the first bikes pull in to hit the trail. Only young people who are more interested in exercise than fireworks are up that early on July 5th. And, yes, they were young, on one hand everyone is young to me, but they were legitimately young. Off they went, and I rolled over to bother Sasha with morning pets.  I got up at my usual time, 8:00, to see the next bunch of hikers pull in and take off. While I was having my second cup of coffee, people my age who had DEFINITELY enjoyed the fireworks were headed out on the trail. A couple that had trecked in to sleep somewhere on the trail returned about 9:00. They looked a little weary but very happy after a night in the mountain air.  About 9:30 I went out to take a picture of the sign, take a little look around and then went back to hit the road. It was fun to see a morning in the life of a trail head.  While I wish I had hiked, as I had planned, I didn't get to Albuquerque until 6:00. Actually I am about 20 miles away, just had to stop. The ride was absolutely beautiful, so different, I enjoyed every minute. NOW for my walk.

On the Road Again

I have been boon docking in my friend, Kim's, cul de sac for the last 5 weeks. We did take a short trip to Aspen to hear some great music. (more later) Before I left Grant Court I had a bon voyage, thank you party for the neighbors. It was intended to be just happy hour, but we all, kids included, had so much fun we stayed out until the kids asked to go home to bed. I love summer!  I also received some awesome pics to hang in my van. Farewell cards, fireworks displays, and even knights to protect my dragon!!
